Post by iSiZ

Last weekend @IBC, the annual electronic media exhibition in Amsterdam, I caught Philip Bloom (Cinematographer, Filmmaker, Blogger) talking about dsrl filmmaking. One of de video’s he talked about was this beautifully shot music video for Olly Knights’ debut solo single. It contains footage from the coming soon documentary also titled “if not now when”. Read Olly’s views on the changing face of music videos here.

Sorry, typical DSLR Video, and boring, very boring

Gotta agree with Ben. Bloom is great at what he does – timelapses, landscape stuff etc, but this video is dull. Shallow depth of field and slider shots. Very much looking like a DSLR demo…

  3. Thank you for sharing. I can not argue about taste, everybody has their own. My opinion is that this video is not your up-tempo music video most people like to watch. I’m one of those who appreciate the quality of color grading, contrast, composition, atmosphere, close-ups. I think it all suits the music well.
