Ed Emberley’s Young Mind

Post by iSiZ

Ed Emberley, born in 1931, is an American artist and illustrator. He published many illustrated books since the 1960s, most are children’s books. Emberley believes that everyone can learn to draw. His drawing books for children feature clear step-by-step instructions.

Renewed interest in his books has come from adults buying them for their children. He now works with Rebecca Emberley, his daughter, and makes funky cut and stick paper illustrated children’s books.

Ed Emberley is a multimedia enthousiast. He shows us courage and a young mind, because he is never too old to reinvent. He makes interactive apps in collaboration with Night & Day Studios. Watch this video explaining the Shake & Make app for children:

And here’s a 15 minute documentary where he explains both his work and fun are combined in one:

Love his stuff. First found the fingerprint books. Now, my grandson is enjoying Make a World and Trucks and Trains, just like his aunt did.
