A smart city makes city life less dumb

Harold Haas has fostered an illuminous idea to transmit our day to day communications through our existing lighting system. Our current communication through mobile phones and computers are transmitted by radio waves. However this has issues on capacity, efficiency, availability and security. Watch him explain this interesting concept:


The city of Amsterdam is moving into a smarter city every day. The ‘Climate Street’ was introduced to present possible Future City scenario’s. One initiative is to reduce CO2 output by introducing lights that dim 50% at night when less light is needed. Watch this 10 minute video presenting innovating idea’s that are being put into action:

  1. Hi there: thank you for using time of creating up this knowledge. I frequently try and even further my idea of important things. No matter whether I concur or disagree, I like knowledge. I bear in mind the previous days once the only source of data was the library or even the newspaper. They both equally appear so archaic. : )
